What volunteering opportunities can we offer?
- befriending young carers
- befriending adult carers
The Carers Befriending Project provides carers of all ages with the opportunity to be
linked with a befriender. Befriending offers carers a new direction in life by having someone to spend time with,
shared activities and the opportunity to express any worries and concerns they may have.
Support is offered to carers of all ages through a range of group activities organised
by the Carers Befriending Project and the Carers Centre. This gives volunteers the opportunity to assist members of
staff when they are working with carers in a variety of group settings.
For a variety of reasons befriending or group activities may not be for you. If
you prefer to volunteer from home or from the Project's office, telephone befriending gives volunteers the opportunity to
offer friendship and support to carers who are often isolated because of their caring responsibilities.
